Open Question: How do girls become strippers, prostitutes, or get into porn?

I've been to a few strip clubs in the US and brothels, sex shows in Amsterdam, and have seen plenty of prostitutes/street walkers in my hometown and Vegas (and even more in Madrid, Paris, Rome) but I always wonder where these girls come from? How do you end up a stripper or get into porn? I understand girls with daddy issues and bad relationships with mothers and siblings, but still...and prostitutes in europe are actually pretty good-looking, even well dressed and put-together. I know its the oldest profession, but Is that really the best way they could make money? Prostitutes don't get paid well and think of all you have to do for money, why not just work at the mall?
